We read every message and reply within 2 business days. When you write in, it helps to include your account email and what device you're on.
Getting started
Download Custody Hero from the App Store, create an account with your email, and verify it with the 6-digit code we send you. Add your family, set your custody schedule, and you're ready to start keeping your record. Importing messages, expenses, and documents can come later, whenever you're ready.
Manage or cancel your subscription
Custody Hero is sold as a subscription through the Apple App Store, starting with a 3-day free trial. You manage everything through your Apple ID, not through us:
- On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
- Select Custody Hero to change your plan or cancel.
- To avoid the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before your trial or current period ends.
You can also restore a subscription you already purchased from the paywall screen in the app using Restore Purchases. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Delete your account and data
Your record belongs to you, and you can remove it at any time. Deleting your account permanently deletes your data, including your schedule, ledger, expenses, imported messages, and documents.
- In the app, open your account settings and choose Delete account.
- Prefer we do it for you? Email support@custodyhero.app from your account email and we'll take care of it.
Cancelling your subscription does not delete your data, and deleting your data does not automatically cancel your subscription, so do both if you want to fully close out.
Importing messages, email, and documents
You can import WhatsApp chat exports, iMessage and SMS history (using the companion macOS importer), and email from your own mailbox (Outlook, Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo, and other IMAP providers). Receipts, photos, and PDFs can be attached to expenses and binders. Only connect accounts and devices you own or are authorized to access. If an import isn't working, email us with the source and what you're seeing.
Privacy and your data
Custody Hero is private by design. Your record is encrypted and belongs to you, and nothing is shared with the other parent. For the full details, see our Privacy Policy.
Is Custody Hero legal advice?
No. Custody Hero helps you organize, document, and communicate, but it is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. For legal questions, talk to a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction. Your use of the app is covered by our Terms of Service. If you or your child are in danger, contact local emergency services.
